Frequently asked Questions

1. Is it possible to have an around the clock move?
Yes, but this has to be part of the planning process and carefully setup to ensure proper shift changes to have fresh personnel available at all times.

2. Do you have qualified supervisors and who are they?
Yes we do, they are senior operations personnel who are trained in supervision and move co-ordination.

3. Do we have to empty the file cabinets?
Not if they are standard upright cabinets. This is qualified by what is kept in the drawers and where they are being moved from and to. All lateral file cabinets should be emptied.

4. Do the desk drawers have to be emptied?
Yes, desks are normally placed on end on moving dollies, to leave them full would create an inbalance in the weight as well as causing items to either fall out of the desk or get mixed badly within the drawers.

5. How will you handle our computer equipment?
Your computer equipment would be moved on special electronics carts, by an experienced electronics crew, on hydraulic air ride lift equipment.

6. Do you have staff to pack our supplies?
Yes we have qualified packers who are very experienced doing this type of work.

7. Who will dismantle our shelving and reassemble it? What guarantees are there if you provide teardown and setup?
We have fully qualified experienced people to do this work. We guarantee our service in writing and will provide reference as to our qualifications.

8. Who takes the runoffs off the desks and puts them back on?
Canada Moving personnel.

9. What is the best method of handling our filing system?
We have special moving carts that files can be placed on, shrink wrapped for security and transported to new premises, or we can use plastic bins that can be sealed at origin by securing the lid and opened at destination.

10. What will you do to handle our library?
The special plastic bins, or carts as mentioned above can be utilized to handle the library.

11. Do you move by time, flat rate or other method?
Canada Moving provides an hourly, flat rate, cost plus or custom pricing dependent upon your needs and circumstances.

12. What about the marble foyer, how do you protect this?
Sensitive flooring areas are covered with specific floor coverings (soft materials) to prevent marking. These coverings are then covered with masonite or plywood for strength and proper protection.

13. What are your security measures to protect the integrity of our files?
Special personnel can pack and unpack all files to be transported in sealed bins or wrapped carts, to maintain security on all files.

14. What security measures are taken while the truck is being unloaded on the street?
The truck is always manned. Canada Moving personnel are always with the vehicle during loading or unloading procedures. The vehicle itself has all doors locked while in transit or if for some reason had to be left unattended.

15. Do you supply moving cartons?
Yes we do.

16. What size are your cartons?
The standard cartons for office moves are 2 cubic foot cartons. But we have a variety of shapes and sizes.

17. Do you work weekends and after hours (after 5pm)?
Yes, as most commercial moves are not done during normal business hours.

18. How do we mark the items to insure proper delivery to location?
All items are labeled (special peel off labels) to show the specific destination location. This is noted along with cross referencing to the floor plan.

19. What Type of vehicles do you use for the move?
Specially designed moving vans, trailers, hydraulic tailgate lift trucks all with air ride suspension and specially designed securement systems inside the van bodies.

20. Are your people bonded?
Yes we have a blanket bond on all personnel who may work for us. All our staff are trained in the proper handling methods for office relocation and commercial moves. We have a very experienced staff who have tremendous knowledge of the moving industry.

21. Can you help us with how to pack the cartons?
Our representative will go over all packing procedures with your and your staff. We have detailed instruction information as well for all staff.

22. How do we properly plan for this relocation?
By getting detailed survey of work requirements and charges. Then going through the planning process with our qualified move co-ordinator to ensure all details are covered.
